In 2007 two students from the University of Queensland, Connie Berridge and Elissa Wegener, were awarded scholarships to attend the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit in Houston, Texas.

PMA 2007 Session Reports

Fresh ideas inspire thousands at PMA Fresh Summit

For three days in mid-October the population of Houston, Texas swelled by around 17,000 people as the PMA Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition rolled into town.

Approximately 100 of those in attendance were Australians, who no doubt returned to our shores inspired, and with more than a few ideas about how to better market our products both domestically and internationally.

With 15,849 visitors from 58 countries, including 3,352 buyers and 774 exhibitors from 23 countries, the George R Brown Convention Centre was packed to capacity.

With the latest and greatest in product marketing on display, it took a dedicated three days to cover the 639,000 square feet of exhibition space.
